Position Profile: Technicians are responsible for diagnosing and solving customers issues, trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of the cable television system. Responsibilities: Perform technical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and proactive maintenance with an emphasis on system integrity. Perform system sweep and balance throughout the trunk, distribution, and optoelectronic system for optimal system performance. Perform 100% operational tests on existing Standby and Non-Standby Power Supplies. Follow established documentation procedures by completing and turning in required paperwork. Safely operate all company vehicles and applicable equipment. Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle in good, safe working order. Perform Standby system service (on-call) as scheduled by the technical services group. Provide back up support, on the job training, and guidance to less experienced Installers and Technicians. Job Requirements: Job Requirements: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices. Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policies. Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 28 ft high and 75 pounds). Ability to climb poles using gaffs, hooks and climbing belt as needed. Able to work in field under different weather conditions. Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires. Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting. Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers in the installation of cable to the residence and TV set converters. Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electrical Safety Code. Previous in the field cable television experience required Qualifications : High School Diploma or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record within Company required standards.
