Patriot Learning Pod, Assistant Director
George Mason University's Patriot Learning Pod (PLP) is hiring an Assistant Director for our program. A facility where the children of faculty and staff can log into their elementary school's learning management system while their parents are on campus, the PLP is a critical element of Mason's 50 percent return to campus effort. We are looking for candidates passionate about creating a safe environment for children completing virtual coursework while their parents are on campus.
Responsibilities: * Supervise all elements of the program including scheduling, maintaining appropriate staffing ratios, hiring, training, policy and procedure development, etc.; * Help the assistant director with scheduling, policy enforcement, performance management, and generally serve as backup for that position; * Ensure a safe environment is maintained, one allowing children to access their school's learning management system to complete coursework; * Create and enforce check-in and departure procedures, assure accurate recordkeeping; * Working with the PLP manager, develop best practices and standard procedures; * Maintain and enforces all COVID precautions daily; * Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications: * A minimum of 3 year's experience working with elementary school children; * Relevant graduate level college coursework in early childhood education or child development; * Must be at least 21 years of age.
