Position Overview:

The Internal Reporting Group within Corporate Accounting is seeking a candidate to coordinate the PeopleSoft General Ledger chartfield configuration maintenance process and assist with additional monthly Internal Reporting responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

Manage the PeopleSoft General Ledger configuration maintenance process, including:
  • Review configuration requests and determine the validity of supporting documentation provided by the business areas.
  • Evaluate any related or applicable accounting guidance.
  • Connect with business areas in order to resolve open questions, assess financial reporting impacts, assist with the execution of SOX controls, and ensure accurate configuration in the PeopleSoft General Ledger.
  • Understand, identify and evaluate different PeopleSoft configuration options and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain supporting documents for configuration requests and post-configuration review.


Additional baseline duties include:
  • Assist with handling work flow to support the monthly close cycle, working with tight deadlines driven by corporate close calendar.
  • Support the production of financial documents and core tables for internal and external audiences. Includes disclosures in Press Release, 10-K, 10-Q, and Monthly Volume Summary.
  • Supervise the team's shared email box and respond to inquiries.
  • Review configuration log for tracking requests and presentation at weekly Change Control Board meeting.
  • Maintain current controls documentation (process flows) and support control work by updating flows and facilitating third-party testing.
  • Assist with the monthly Account Reconciliation Management Reporting (ARMR) process. Review and interpret quarterly and annual General Ledger monitoring reports.
  • Supervise Financial Controller Professionals and Rotational Finance Analysts.


Our Impact:


The Internal Reporting team is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the PeopleSoft General Ledger by reviewing and approving configuration change requests. We assist in the monthly Corporate close process (opening/closing the G/L, confirming all journal entries have been posted). We also run monthly and quarterly financial statements supporting external reporting like the 10(K) and 10(Q) and FHFA call reports.

Your Impact:

This position will review and approve PeopleSoft configuration requests that ensure accurate financial reporting. The employee will lead the preparation and review of our Monthly Volume Summary financial report and execute our recurring close procedures and General Ledger queries to close the GL and ensure that we meet our close deadlines.

Qualifications:
  • At least 5 - 7 years proven experience in an accounting-related position with General Ledger experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (accounting preferred)
  • Strong facilitation and validated analytical skills
  • Strong ability to lead multiple efforts simultaneously
  • Software Skills: MS Suite, General Ledger applications
  • CPA or CFA
  • Information systems background
  • Experience mentoring junior staff


Keys to Success in this Role:

The preferred candidate should have a desire to understand general ledger accounting systems and reporting practices. We're looking for a strong interest in learning and understanding the underlying accounting concepts that support our financial reporting. In this position, you'll need to have strong analytical skills, be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and the ability to concurrently run multiple projects along with interacting and working effectively with all levels of management. Ability to work independently and identify ways to make processes more efficient is a plus!
