This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. NSS Sector has an opening for a radio frequency (RF) senior systems engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services to an IC customer. The customer organization we support provides the enterprise architecting, analysis, and systems engineering solutions that determine the current and future national space systems. A' Responsibilities include but are not limited to:A' * Working across multiple Directorates and Offices to identify and define future space capability needs * Frequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, external stakeholders, and development contractors * Identifying and defining future space capability needs * Identifying key architecture and system level trades * Modeling, simulation, and analysis * Developing Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) for new capabilities and coordinating them across the affected organizations * Developing enterprise, system, function, performance, and interface requirements * Supporting resiliency activities/initiatives on behalf of the customer * Manage the Request for Change (RFC) process as it relates to updating requirement baselines * Providing comprehensive technical analysis of alternatives and advising customer on technical approaches * Preparing briefings for senior decision makers *Qualifications* Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with at least 14 years of relevant experience * Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph * Demonstrated competence in RF satellite communications technologies * Demonstrated competence in communications, networking, and/or IT infrastructure life cycle development, to include:A' requirements definition, specifications and standards, and industry best practices * Experience developing or implementing communications architectures * Familiarity with systems engineering and systems integration for DoD, IC or Civil satellite and ground systems * Experience in space communications - hardware, antennas, RF, and digital communications systems * Strong analysis, problem-solving skills both independently and in a team setting * Understanding and use of various frameworks and infrastructure implementations used in satellite communications systems and their supporting signal processing and data dissemination systems * Strong written and verbal communications skills * Demonstrated dependability, self-motivation, communications, and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively with Government customers, contractors, and team members * Ability to support multiple active projects concurrently Desired Qualifications: * Advanced degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline * Experience with IC customer's RFC process and the Engineering Review Board process * Systems Tool Kit (STK) certification * Experience in Cameo, Rhapsody, and SysML applications * Prior US military and/or IC customer experience * Experience with satellite telemetry, tracking and control (TT&C), command and control, and mission payload systems * Prior US military and/or IC customer experience SAIC is a premier technology integrator solving our nation's modernization and readiness challenges.
