The ideal candidate will define, design, and develop requirements for workstations, desktop systems, and laptops. Working in conjunction with other Desktop Engineers and Senior Network/IT Infrastructure Engineers, tests desktop/laptop operating systems, platforms, and application compatibility. This position can identify issues and recommend the appropriate solutions for upgrades and participates in a hands-on capacity in projects to upgrade desktop solutions, patches, etc. Develops concepts, provides requirements analyses, cost estimations, benefit analysis, hardware and software interoperability, and new technology assessments.This position is not considered help desk support, although a senior help desk technician that has significant experience and the skills necessary to engineer desktop solutions will qualify as a successful candidate.
