ECS is seeking a Systems Administrator II to work in our Fairfax, VA office. Job Description: ECS is seeking a Systems Administrator Level II (Mid-Level) to work in our Fairfax, VA office. We offer highly competitive compensation and benefits to the right person for this key position.As a Systems Administrator, you will be a member of our Enterprise Corporate IT team. You will be expected to work with minimal supervision to provide on-site system administrator and operations support. This position will require that you troubleshoot and diagnose system issues to provide rapid remediation. Routinely interact with corporate stakeholders and others to communicate status, problems, and progress-update the documentation to maintain relevance and applicability. Support continuous security monitoring, including participation in activities to maintain appropriate security posture and perform package updates. Identify areas of potential efficiency improvement to include the development of automated routines. Troubleshoot performance degradation. Engage in actively learning, deploying, and maintaining new technologies.Responsibilities include:Provide Microsoft application administration and support.Domain Administration managing Active Directory, OU structures, Sites, Trusts, DHCP, DNS, and AD Certificate ServicesAutomation of administrative tasks using PowerShell.Design, create, test, apply, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPO) at the domain level.Deploy infrastructure updates and upgrades (hardware, application, operating system patching, software security updates, and configurations.)Assess the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows Server systems. Install and upgrade Windows system and servers.Discuss system and server upgrades with project management.Review system error logs and user-reported errors/issues.Perform daily system health monitoring.Support System Backup/recovery COOP and DCBR exercises and activities.Maintain server architecture security.Perform the development of new or existing architectural plans and designs.Use advanced technical writing skills to document and maintain records for IT systems and standard operating procedures.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills:Must be a US CitizenHigh School/GED/Certificate5 years of Windows System Administrator experience.Ability to create and modify batch and PowerShell scripts.Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, features, roles, deployment, and maintenance.Excellent communications skills; both oral and written Excellent organizational skillsExperience with Active Directory and group policies.Experience with databases, patch management, and networks, including LAN and WAN.Experience with systems backup and data restoration.Familiarity with Windows clustering.Good problem-solving skills, analytical, and communication skills required.Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with demonstrated persistence in driving solutions through to completion.High standards result-oriented and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions on time.Understanding of load balancing.Understanding of storage architectures.Willingness and ability to learn emerging technologies and continue to expand skillset.Desired Skills:Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration, including experience with SQL backup and recovery preferred.Experience with virtualization preferred.Experience with system security requirements and configuration.Experience troubleshooting network issues at the operating system level.Industry certifications such as Server+, Security+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCTS, or MCITPECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, citizenship, disability, veteran status or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
