Job Description Description Job Description: The Electronic Warfare Division of Leidos is seeking a Chief Software Systems Engineer in Arlington, VA. The Chief Engineer (CE) is responsible for all product development/delivery for a complex real-time tactical EW system. He/she oversees the design, development, documentation, and testing of complex real-time software as integrated into a system-of-systems EW Suite. The CE applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. He/she supports the Program Manager, by leading algorithmic, software, and systems engineering activities and integrated schedules. Performing these responsibilities will include significant collaboration and coordination with Leidos management, external organizations including customers, subcontractors, and vendors. The CE requires strong skills with proactive communication and the building of collaborative relationships. We are seeking a proven multi-disciplinary leader with experience managing real-time software development within a NAVAIR SETR environment as well as experience using agile techniques and tools. The ideal candidate will understand cost and schedule drivers in support of engineering decisions. They will use their thorough understanding of software engineering, system engineering, software architecture and management principles to effectively execute the technical program. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Candidates must possess at minimum an active DoD Secret clearance. Required Qualifications: BS or Master's Degree accompanied with 15+ years' related experience. Technical experience in systems engineering, system architecture, software engineering, software architecture, and/or related fields Experience in the following: o Leading development of a software-based operational system o Taking a program through the Design Reviews, including SRR, PDR, and CDR o Writing/directing the completion of formal DoD requirements o Developing requirements traceability for software systems (RVTM) o CMMI Level 3+ or similar processes o Performing/directing automated testing of software systems. o Writing/directing the completion of software systems engineering documents (SDP, etc.) o Writing/directing formal software interface documents (IDDs/ICDs) o Performing with formal configuration and control review boards for a major DoD acquisition command o Shaping and leading a diverse multi-disciplinary team in fast paced environment o Developing detailed plans/schedules in support of technical assignments o Presenting and conveying focused messages to external customers, program management, and teammates o Applies formal software development processes and procedures o Ability to work effectively with different engineering disciplines, including hardware, systems engineering, test and integration, and signal processing Desired Skills Experience with the following: o Agile software development methodologies (Scrum Certification a plus) o Team software development tools, such as Jira and Confluence o Transitioning R&D software/algorithms to an operational system o Software configuration management tools, such as SVN and GIT o Software requirements tracking and maintenance o Model-Based software development methodologies (Cameo, noMagic) and SysML o Open systems architectures and approaches o Background with Signal Processing, Signal Intelligence (SIGINT), Electronic Warfare (EW), real-time embedded software, robotics/automation and algorithms LInC Electronic Warfare External Referral Bonus:Eligible Potential for Telework: No Clearance Level Required: Secret Travel: Yes, 10% of the time Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: Day Requisition Category: Professional Job Family: Systems Engineering Pay Range: Leidos is a Fortune 500® information technology, engineering, and science solutions and services leader working to solve the world's toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
