Description Job Description: The Leidos Intelligence Group has a current opening for a Chief Systems Engineer supporting the US Government in a challenging, dynamic setting located in Chantilly, Virginia. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. Leidos is seeking a broadly experienced Chief Engineer to support our Naiad contract who will successfully manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects in support of operations and maintenance, technical refresh, system improvement and modernization activities, and other major changes that occur. The successful candidate will be the lead technical position on the program and will be expected to advise and guide the technical staff in current and new technology solutions. This unique opportunity will allow you to provide technical leadership on a high-visibility DoD/Intel program that provides IT support, systems integration and life cycle support, application development, network engineering, information systems security (ISS), and 24x7x365 support to mission-focused customer. In this mission we research, design, test, and implement all technologies involved in small data centers to include IT systems, networking, hardware, software, storage, physical infrastructure and security. The Chief Engineer will oversee all phases of engineering projects for system maintenance, modifications, and upgrades and will be responsible for establishing and achieving the schedule for upgrades and system improvements. This includes preparation of build packages and coordination with the customer to communicate planned changes in order to gain approval for technical build activities. The Chief Engineer will engage with the Operations and Sustainment Manager, team leads and subject matter experts to ensure high availability of customer mission, troubleshoot and resolve system anomalies, and to recommend and implement system improvements. Primary Responsibilities: Communicate and interface with customer and Leidos Program Management, Technical leads and Subject Matter Experts to provide Program status and to jointly present, lead, and work program issues, and technical solutions. Provide engineering and technical expertise on all issues, system improvement efforts, and operations and maintenance activities. Review and approve all technical solutions for discrepancy resolution and system enhancements to be integrated into the production environment. Prepare and present build planning packages including integrated master schedules to customer POCs to gain approval for periodic system maintenance and upgrades. Ensure that all approved build activities are completed on time and within budget, the implementation is ready for deployment to customer production environments. Understand all applicable performance standards and ensure that performance metrics are met or exceeded. Required Qualifications: Must have demonstrated experience identifying, developing, and implementing engineering and technology solutions. Demonstrated project management experience and experience in all phases of a project lifecycle. Demonstrated ability to work in a customer environment collaboratively through constraints to meet mission milestones. Excellent written and oral communications skills and management to include presentation and experience discussing complex technical issues and solutions with high-level customers.
