Come put your software engineering skills into action! Leidos has openings for talented Cybersecurity Software Engineer to work in Springfield, VA or our headquarters in Reston, VA. The responsibilities for this position include all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and automated testing within an agile and continuous integration and continuous delivery model. In this role, you will join a dynamic team that is singularly focused on providing world class solutions to our customers in an exciting, collaborative, and inclusive atmosphere. As a leader, you will architect, design, build, and enhance highly available and scalable next generation systems. You will direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing. Additionally, you will determine and recommend the best designs based on business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. Primary Responsibilities Participate in the full software development lifecycle, working within broadly defined parameters Contribute to the delivery of an entire piece of a system or application, being accountable for completing backlog tasks within schedule Participate in agile planning and estimation activities to break down large tasks into smaller tasks Participate in agile scrum meetings and work within SecDevOps best practices Build software solutions where the solution is not always well defined but always considers the customer first Mentor other engineers in the art of building complex, web scale systems Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field and 4-8 years of software engineering experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Proficiency in networking, firewalls, TCP/IP, zero trust, and comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles. Hands-on expertise programming in C++, Java, Python, or other object oriented languages Experience with REST, JSON, XML, SAML, YAML Experience across entire software lifecycle from early requirements gathering to rapid prototyping through delivery and sustainment of a system or complex application Understanding of software design patterns Working knowledge of agile development and continuous integration and continuous delivery methodologies and tools Experience with a version control system (eg, Git/BitBucket) Experience with an issue/problem tracking system (eg, Jira) Proficiency with at least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.) Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint) Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (US citizenship) Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of agile development processes and DevOps tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence Knowledge of continuous integration, delivery, and automated test tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium, JMeter Experience developing and delivering modern software, including microservices, containers, and hybrid cloud architectures Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification (eg Certified SAFe Agilist) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Current cybersecurity, cloud, and network product certifications (eg CISSP, CCNE, AWS) Active DoD security clearance External Referral Bonus: Ineligible Potential for Telework: Yes, 100% Clearance Level Required: None Travel: Yes, 10% of the time Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: Day Requisition Category: Professional Job Family: Software Engineering Pay Range: Leidos is a Fortune 500 information technology, engineering, and science solutions and services leader working to solve the world s toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
