DescriptionAccountemps is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. The strongest candidates for this position will be able to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. In this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, you will need to be a self-starter with high attention to detail, in order to succeed at handling 200+ invoices a week. This is a short-term temporary-to-full-time Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Fairfax, Virginia area.How you will make an impact- Communicate information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders- Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in different ledgers- Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization- Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks- Assist in setting up payment plans; contact clients to help resolve payment issues- Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP- Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, eg skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment- Test documents and codesRequirements- Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills- Proven analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy- Current and relevant ERP system experience- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable- Excellent attention to detail- Excel VBA experience required- Excel Formulas experienceAccountemps, a Robert Half Company, matches skilled accounting and finance professionals with remote or on-site jobs on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
