Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire a Needs Assesment Coordinator who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Needs Assesment Coordinator, you will:
•Review clinical information and determines appropriate level of care for the patient after consulting with the attending physician.
•Provide clinical information to the charge nurse if the patient is admitted to the in-patient unit.
•Contact managed care representatives, third party payers, primary physicians or other relevant persons in order to provide clinical information required to verify insurance and/or obtain authorization for clinical services.
•Answer all incoming phone calls from persons and providers requesting acute clinical services for psychiatry to determine appropriate level of care.
•Refer patients, as clinically indicated, to external services when a service is not provided within the array BH&WS programs.
•Schedule clinical evaluations in the electronic medical record(s).
•Provide clinical triage services to the Emergency Department, Needs Assessment office and other hospital departments where appropriate.
•Document all calls in the tracking log and documents disposition of patients on the department coversheet.

Qualifications Include:
•Clinical knowledge of ICD-10 & DSM V
•Demonstrates effective communication "warm hand offs" between providers, shifts, departments/units, etc and "closing the loop" on all cases.
•Proficiency in electronic medical record keeping; Microsoft Office Suite; operating telephone, fax machine & photocopier
•Knowledge of patient rights and laws pertaining to mental health
•Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or other related field and at least •2 years of experience working in mental health.

Work Schedule:

This position is a full time overnight position, the hours are as follows;

Monday: 7p-7:30a

Tuesday: 11p-7:30a

Wednesday: 11p-7:30a

Thursday: 7p-7:30a
