Position Overview:

Do you have a passion for automation, modern development methodologies, and cloud computing? We are looking for an Automation Tech Lead to join our fast-paced and highly talented Freddie Mac Automation team. We're looking for someone with the mindset that everything can be automated, an individual who thinks of building frameworks and patterns, a self-starter and fast learner, who is very comfortable writing code one day and driving team discussions and solutions the next day.

Our team operates across the technology landscape and we are involved in technology initiatives from streamlining IT service delivery operations and software defined datacenter to automating the disaster recovery strategy. We design and build frameworks, define the standards and practices, and help change the culture to an automation-driven mindset.

Your Impact:
  • You will automate solutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of your ingenuity and creativity
  • You will build frameworks and solutions that streamline the delivery and operational lifecycle of applications and cloud services
  • You will provide leadership on enterprise projects and initiatives related to automation and work across team lines on design, solutioning and implementation

  • 8-10 years of overall IT Experience with emphasis on IT Automation
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience
  • Strong scripting and/or programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Python
  • Strong usage of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform
  • Experience with REST API programming and system integration
  • Administration-level experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of cloud providers and services (AWS, VMC, GCP)
