The Research Technician II is responsible for supervised performances in the cell therapy processing needed to develop cell products. Their duties include but are not limited to processing human blood and tissue , sterile handling of products, cell manipulation and evaluation procedures, analyzing and collecting data, calculating data charts and graphs, and thorough documentation of procedures. The candidate will perform a variety of routine, specialized and complex cellular therapy laboratory procedures and projects, and needs to have at least one year of experience in primary cell culture.


Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree with a major in basic science or related field desired. (Preferred)

Specific Requirements and Preferences
2-4 years related experience .

Required Skills/Knowledge
Basic knowledge of lab safety and use of basic lab equipment
Knowledge of statistics, advanced mathematics
Knowledge of lab techniques & research related software

Functional Accountabilities

1. Plan, conduct, and manage search projects within the federal and institutional regulations and policies under the direction of the principal investigator.
2. Responsible for appropriate use of research funds and resources.
3. Comply with all annual job-related training requirements.
4. Conduct literature search as directed.

Laboratory Work
1. Perform routine tests under the direction of principal investigator or supervisor.
2. Record and check results for completeness and accuracy.
3. Perform tasks that may require familiarity with fundamental techniques and equipment.
4. Compile information from lab notebooks and journals.
5. Attend courses, seminars, and lab meetings to expand knowledge of research and laboratory techniques.

Project Planning
1. Assist with planning specific research protocols and procedures.
2. Coordinate schedules of tests and procedures.
3. Assist staff to develop and troubleshoot new techniques and ideas.

1. Maintain a log of work performed;
2. Prepare charts, graphs, and results of studies; compile and help analyze data.
3. Maintain all required records, reports, statistics, etc.; prepare summary reports as requested.
4. Maintain and update department policies in regard to procedures, objectives, safety etc.
