Description SAIC is seeking a Linux/Red Hat Administrator to support the Voice Identity Biometric Exploitation Services (VIBES) Program. Note: This role offers temporary work from home/ remote/ virtual work at home due to COVID-19. Eventually the work will go back on site in Aberdeen, MD. Job Duties: Performs daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operational maintenance, support, and software upgrades for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers, Windows 10 workstations and laptops, and Android mobile devices Manages multiple servers comprising multiple virtual machines (VMs) using VMware s ESXi hypervisor, vSphere client VM manager, and vCenter system manager Schedules backups, installations, upgrades, and maintains the system hardware and software in accordance with the customer s IT and IA policies and procedures Works with the IA/Cyber team to maintain a Risk Management Framework (RMF) posture and participate in the RMF activities required to achieve and maintain an ATO Able to work within a hybrid environment to include On-premise and AWS GovCloud workloads Operates as a member of the project s engineering team in an Agile engineering environment Works independently with general direction and as a team member under the direction of the project s engineering team lead. Performs complex software installations and upgrades to the operating systems, system services, application support packages, and application updates for Linux, Windows, and Android software product deliverables Schedules backups, installations, upgrades, and maintains the system hardware and software in accordance with the customer s IT and IA policies and procedures Ensures system and application data recoverability by maintaining a schedule of system backups, database archives, and restoration operations Provides support to the Operations team and the customer s users to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system problems Support Cisco network switches including the configuration and maintenance of virtual local area networks (VLANs) Ensure system and application data integrity/recoverability by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software (SW) and hardware (HW) solutions while adhering to standard operating procedures, maintaining a schedule of system backups, database archives, and restoration operations Plan, implement, and test upgrades to the system SW and HW, both on premise and in cloud environments Provides input and updates to required system documentation (ie System Administration Guide) Provides support to the Operations team and the customer s users to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system problems Continually monitors and tunes system resources to achieve optimum performance, maximize system uptime, and troubleshoot system problems Conducts SW and HW audits of servers, workstations, and mobile devices to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines Performs complex SW installations and upgrades to the operating systems, system services, application support packages, and application updates for Linux, Windows, and Android SW product deliverables Must be able to work with minimal supervision and guidance Qualifications Required Education and Experience HS/GED and nine (9) years of experience OR Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; OR Masters and three (3) years or more experience Current IAT Level II/8570 certification: Security +, CISSP, CASP, etc. Must be able to obtain an OS/Computing Environment (CE) certification within 60 days of hire. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance in JPAS NOT Scattered Castles Using Atlassian Suite Products (ex. JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) 3 years experience in Linux server and workstation system administration including RHEL/CentOS 3 years experience in VMware virtual machines, services, and tools 1 year experience in the use of Linux scripting languages as well as the development, test, use, and maintenance of scripts on Linux servers 1 year experience with the Agile/Scrum methodologies, ie release planning, sprints, daily standup, backlog refinement, and retrospectives Familiar with Cisco networks Familiar Amazon Web Services/AWS Must be able to work with minimal supervision and guidance Strong written and verbal communication skills.
