Responsibilities

The selectee will serve as a Supervisory Liaison and Staff Manager in the Office of the Chief Information Officer. Typical work assignments include:
  • Providing advisory services regarding administrative functions and administrative management operations; reviewing and conducting analysis of the administrative support operations; and recommending or implementing effective and efficient work processes.
  • Providing advice and guidance to subordinate personnel on the distribution of the administrative workload and ensuring the efficient, timely, and effective completion of administrative support work.
  • Coordinating staffing and recruitment actions and monitoring the status of the applicants during the hiring and background phase.
  • Coordinating and implementing administrative procedural changes and providing advice and guidance concerning new or modified policies and procedures and communicate changes to CIO staff.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

GS-12: You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $87,198) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level performing duties such as: developing and maintaining administrative operational procedures; coordinating administrative functions, activities and assignments; maintaining files and records (e.g. personnel, financial, confidential memoranda, etc.); providing administrative support on personnel actions and issues; and preparing non-routine letters and/or reports.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

  • Knowledge of administrative management duties and concepts conducive to recognizing, developing, and advising management on appropriate solutions to resolve problems or issues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters and other official correspondence.
