Summary

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25 . Responsibilities

  • Plan, organizes staff, and carries out reviews and evaluates a positive management oriented SHARP program that includes efforts to resolve systemic problems.
  • Manages the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program for the Organization.
  • Provide policy, guidance and other information for victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault, subordinate unit commanders, first responders, and those who seek to prevent or respond to sexual harassment/assault.
  • Conduct response activities in the event of a sexual harassment complaint or sexual assault.

Conditions of Employment

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must successfully complete 80-hour SHARP Course and obtain DOD Certification within 6-months of hire.
  • Must successfully complete a 7 week Sharp training course and complete all requirements to obtain DoD Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Individuals will be screened by the National Sex Offender Registry.
  • Individuals will be screened by the through the Crime Records Center and the Army Central Registry for a history of domestic violence.
  • Must possess a valid driver?s license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • May be subject to occasional on-call.
  • **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

  • **Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployment locations.
  • **Subject to TDY of 25% or less of the time.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience equivalent to the GG/GS-09 which prepared you to do this job. Specialize experience is defined as experience: 1. providing managerial and technical assistance in programs such as equal opportunity, sexual assault prevention and response; 2. evaluating programs to identify and resolve systematic issues; 3. directing program activities that emphasize prevention of sexual assault and harassment. This definition of specialize experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade or work level in the Federal government.

OR

Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.

OR

Specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; AND at least two years of graduate education as described above, but less than the required three years. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.
