The position is located in the Office of the Director, Office of Human Resources (OHR). The incumbent serves as a HR Specialist (Classification) and classification program manager who is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating the classification program for the agency.

Responsibilities

As a HR Specialist (Classification) GS-0201-14, your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serving as the program manager and technical authority for classification, position management, and organizational management for the agency.
  • Designing, developing, and/or implementing innovative position structures and jobs that contribute to improving the organization, and that improve organizational costs, effectiveness, efficiency, and flexibility.
  • Using innovative approaches in the review and evaluation of individual jobs, streamlining the procedures applicable to the development of position descriptions and evaluation procedures.
  • Reviewing decisions from classification appeal process and determines the extent to which the decision affects classification within the agency.

Qualifications

To minimally qualify for the GS-14 level, you must meet the below requirement:

You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position must be sufficient to demonstrate: mastery knowledge and skill in maintaining agency-wide position classification accuracy and consistency in interpreting and applying position classification standards and in reviewing classification appeal packages for major program implications; knowledge of the methods and techniques used in written communication to develop and publish agency regulations and policy guidance.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade-requirements to be considered eligible for this grade level. One year of experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent level of Federal service is required to qualify for the GS-14 grade level.

This position is open to CTAP/ICTAP eligible applicants. You must meet the requirements below and submit required official documentation as proof of eligibility.
  • Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) To be well-qualified and exercise selection priority for this vacancy, displaced Federal employees must be rated at 85 or above on the rating criteria for this position.
