Position Overview:

The Model Audit and Data Analytics (MDA) team in Internal Audit is seeking a Quantitative Analytics Professional. The position is responsible for supporting the Internal Audit Division to determine whether the organization's risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and implemented by management, are adequate and functioning effectively.

We are looking for aQuant Analytics professional, who has a diverse skillset to be able to conduct projects that are either model-oriented, data-oriented, or both. Audits are chosen by risks (high or emerging) and require in-depth knowledge of the methodology and limitations. Our team is responsible for determining whether the organization's risk management, control, and governance processes including data governance, as designed and implemented by management, are adequate and functioning effectively.

Your Impact:
  • Executes a risk-based approach to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of the company's first and second line risk management, controls, model governance and data governance programs.
  • Possesses knowledge of applied computer programming, preferably R, Python, SAS, MATLAB.
  • Visualizes data to communicate complex patterns to executives and business users.
  • Evaluates the quality of management's data, EUCs, model development testing, implementation, validation and ongoing monitoring of model performance.
  • Evaluates risk associated with the company's data, EUCs and models.
  • Evaluates management's compliance with data governance, EUC and model policies, standards, and model development procedures.
  • Executes audits, audit finding follow-up activities, or advisory projects.
  • Works with a team of data analysts, quants, economists and external consultants to execute audit programs and to document work papers and reports consistent with industry practices.
  • Documents audit work papers, conducts fieldwork, and supports the Supervisor, Manager, or Director in drafting audit and advisory reports.
  • Challenge data quality assessments and suggests more efficient alternatives.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (or Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience) in statistics, data science or a related quantitative field.
  • Coursework or work experience applying predictive modeling techniques from data science, statistics, machine learning, and econometrics to large data sets. Qualifying coursework may include--but is not limited to--data science, statistics, machine learning, optimization, numerical analysis, scientific programming, computational methods, supervised learning, unsupervised learning, text mining, and image analysis.
  • Coursework or work experience writing computer programs to implement data science pipelines and predictive algorithms. Programming languages may include--but are not limited to--Python, R, SQL, Java, SAS, and MATLAB.
  • Coursework or work experience using technologies for manipulating structured and unstructured big data. Big data technologies may include--but are not limited to--Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spark, relational databases, and NoSQL.
  • Knowledge of data science techniques and visualization tools is preferred.
  • Big 4 experience with internal or external audit experience is preferred.
  • Prior studies/interests in accounting (CPA exams, undergrad in Accounting) is preferred.
  • Possession or willingness to pursue certifications in Internal Audit (CIA, CPA, CISA) is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate and convey the insights of data and quantitative analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences is pivotal for this role.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills. Ability to pitch and storyboard a project.
  • Good data, quantitative, empirical analysis, and research skills.
