Job DescriptionJob Overview: Reporting to the VP, Bioanalytical Services, the Executive Director Global Immunochemistry will provide leadership and strategic direction to immunochemistry operations. Directs a staff responsible for the scientific conduct of immunochemistry projects. Assures annual financial, quality, scientific, and client service targets are achieved. Develops and champions the Bioanalytical vision across CTTS(Clinical Trial Testing Solutions) and the wider Drug Development organization. Engages with Clients to develop credible innovative molecule centric solutions. Drives sustainable growth by assuring delivery of strategic objectives. Provides direction for staff responsible for immunochemistry technical delivery to clients' satisfaction on multidisciplinary projects across the drug development pathway. Ownership of budgetary commitments for the immunochemistry laboratories within Bioanalytical Services. Collaborates with other scientific and operational leaders ensuring leadership aligns with the delivery of Bioanalytical Strategy. Works with colleagues across the Bioanalytical Services, Clinical Trial Testing Solutions (CTTS), Early Development (ED) and Drug Development organization to develop and enable solutions. Essential Job Duties: * To assure annual financial, quality, scientific, and client service targets are achieved in the Global Immunochemistry business segment. * To direct a global staff responsible for the scientific conduct of a variety of large, multidisciplinary projects in the Pharmaceutical field encompassing clinical and nonclinical bioanalysis. * To demonstrate a global vision for integrating Bioanalytical Services into Drug Development comprehensive product offering. * Responsible for the formulation, development and implementation of site plans, policies and procedures within department guidelines. * Justify and assign resources (personnel, space, and equipment) and implement programs to assure financial and budget expectations are met. * Monitors and controls performance including labor/project schedules and budgets. * Develops an operational plan, which identifies the areas in which the department will concentrate its scientific and operational efforts. Implements the necessary strategies to accomplish these goals. * Coordinates all development and renovation programs with the department staff and facilities personnel to ensure compliance with department, company and regulatory requirements. * Initiates, plans and implements staff development programs. Develops department capabilities and resources to meet both present and future client needs. * Conducts performance appraisals and manages employee performance and career expectations within the department. * Provide scientific leadership in commercial development activities with clients. * Ensures the scientific objectivity, credibility and expertise of the department. * Creates an employee empowered work environment that is stimulating and rewarding, yet deals with poor performance in a decisive fashion. * Coordinates administration of the training program with other site managers to ensure consistency of results. * Enforces department safety programs; coordinates with the environmental, health and safety department. * Implements appropriate affirmative action, employee communication, recruitment and staff retention programs within the department. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Education/Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in a Life Science discipline, Advanced degree (PhD.) preferred * 10+ years related experience * Six Sigma experience or certification preferred Experience: * Operational leadership providing technical or scientific expertise in facility design, technician training, or resource management * Independent management skills and ability to implement department and company directives. * Demonstrated leadership experience, including an ability to motivate and deliver exceptional results through people. * Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and deliver quality results in a growing organization. * Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills * Time management, planning, budgeting expertise * Proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point
