Job DescriptionPeraton is seeking a Network Engineer with COMSEC experience in Chantilly, VA, to support our Intelligence Community customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated and high-performing team. Reporting to the program manager, as a Network Engineer you'll be supporting cloud-based software intensive systems and networks in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities : * Participate in the design, development and documentation of Wide Area Networks (WANs) / Local Area Networks (LANs). * Track network system build-out status, specify and configure firewalls, switches and routers, and support other systems and network engineering tasks, as required. * Implement Virtual private network (VPN). * Provide support and guidance to the O&M team on the maintenance and sustainment of the infrastructure systems. * Assist in site surveys and stand-up/deployment of Type 1 encryption devices as new remote sites are added to the network. * Troubleshoot connectivity to encryption devices, as needed. * Work with technical/development team of system engineers and architects through the Agile process. * Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Required Skills: * You have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance upon hire. * You have a bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent military training. * You have 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or a related field. * You have current IT certification(s) in one or more of the following: CCNA-Security, CASP, CISSP, Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT-Level * You have network vendor certifications in one or more of the following: Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or Palo Alto * You have experience supporting designing, building, and maintaining networks in a classified environment. * You have experience configuring VLANS, VPNs, firewalls/switches/routers (Cisco, Arista, Brocade, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.), networking and using network management functions and tools. * You have experience securing network and maintaining device software ensuring they are up to date in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) policies. * You have hands-on network troubleshooting experience. * You have a strong understanding of IP addressing and subnetting. * You have 1-2 years of experience operating/maintaining/troubleshooting DoD encryption/COMSEC equipment. * You are detail/ process oriented, can multi-task, and are able to work with minimal supervision. * You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with management, the customer and user organizations across DoD. Desired Skills: * You have experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC) and/or DoD customer. * You have familiarity with current IC systems and associated security policies/procedures. * You have experience working with UNIX and/or LINUX systems in a network environment.
