Job DescriptionJob Profile Position Overview PNC is seeking a Consumer Credit Specialist in the Specials Situations Team under Retail Lending Decision Management & Analytics. This team participates in a variety of strategic initiatives to support Retail Lending including the development of loss mitigation strategies to efficiently increase net recoveries on PNC's Retail Lending Portfolio. In this role, the analyst will develop and maintain credit policies and procedures to support PNC's Retail Lending default management strategy. The position covers retail lending products including auto, unsecured loan, consumer card and home equity. A key aspect of the role is to partner closely with default management operations to understand default management practices. You will need to rely on strong written communication skills in order to capture the what, how and why for complex analytical results with non-technical audiences. All the while, you'll benefit from access to senior professionals within the field in a friendly, open, and engaging environment. The position may located in Northern VA or Pittsburgh, PA Job Description * Assesses activities associated with applicable business segment, including the credit approval process, policy and procedural compliance and portfolio risk management, credit monitoring, and reporting. * Leverages in-depth knowledge of consumer credit policy to ensure adherence to policy. Deploys appropriate monitoring mechanisms of early performance to manage expected outcomes. * Reviews analytic activities to ensure deep understanding of portfolio issues, trends and root causes in order to effectively manage the credit portfolios. * Assesses credit transaction models utilized within defined asset class and activity. Ensures adherence to model management processes, such as model validation, testing, and maintenance, by ensuring the appropriate resources are in place to adhere to guidance. * Follows and recognizes economic, regulatory, and other trends affecting borrowers. Initiates relevant analyses, by leveraging key analytic partners, and discussions to determine potential impacts on policy. Reviews validation outputs on data produced and delivered. Ensures that work set is completed and that the right conversations are taking place to execute deliverables. Competencies Credit Analysis and Verification - Knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques and practices for determining the credit-worthiness of an applicant. Financial Statement Analysis - Knowledge of tools, techniques, and practices, and ability to analyze and determine the credit-worthiness of a business enterprise through its financial statements. Portfolio Management - 1 - Knowledge of and ability to utilize the tools, techniques, and acceptable business practices associated with managing a portfolio. Problem Solving - Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Quantitative Techniques - Knowledge of and ability to use quantitative tools and techniques to measure and analyze risks. Regulatory Environment - Financial Services - Knowledge of and ability to help an organization adapt to applicable federal, state, local, and company-specific regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting business practices. Risk Economics and Finance - Knowledge of economic and financial principles/theories and ability to apply them to risk management, measurement, monitoring, and reporting. Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
