Storage Systems Engineer
Job DescriptionPeraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide Storage System maintenance and engineering services on Windows, UNIX, and Linux system environments across the enterprise. What you'll do * Perform Tier 3 storage maintenance and problem resolution activities on mission systems running a variety of operating systems including Linux and Windows. * VMWare administration to include configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and overall support of multiple VMWare environments. * Setup, install, configure, maintain, and restore VM backups and snapshots. * Analyze system storage capacity and performance to support problem resolution and system enhancements. * Perform routine and preventative system maintenance such as application loads, disk utilization, system loading, system monitoring, trend analysis, etc. * Detect, isolate, document, and resolve system outages or problems encountered during operations, including collecting diagnostic data, restoring system operation, developing workarounds, and other activities for system recovery. You'd be a great fit * You have a Bachelor's (or equivalent) and 7+ years of experience * You have experience in one or more aspects of data center technology including: virtualization, compute, networking, data encryption, storage, and data center management software. * You have experience handling procedures for Datastores, Data Direct Network (DDN), Isilon, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN), and Virtual Storage Platform (VSP). * You have experience with storage management products Hitachi Command Suite, SANtricity, NetApp OnCommand Manager, Hitachi Storage Analytics. * You have experience supporting backup activities across multiple operating system platforms, including various versions of UNIX, Linux, and Windows. * You have experience with VMWare and its tools (vCenter, VRa, vRop, etc.). * You can maintain a diverse set of skills across multiple technical disciplines with recognized expertise in multiple disciplines. * You have strong awareness of technical trends in IT and their applicability to support customer requirements. * You can be an effective communicator (written and oral) across multiple organizations, both internally and externally. * You are IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security) certified OR have a higher certification. * You possess a current/active TS/SCI with polygraph.
