7291 - Fredericksburg - 10400 Southpoint Pkwy, Fredericksburg, Virginia, 22407CarMax, the way your career should be!General Summary:Under general supervision, performs and documents results of repairs of brakes, engine, steering and suspension, and heating and air conditioning as identified in Certified Quality Inspection Process and/or Retail Repair Process.On as needed basis, responsible for Mechanical Associate I, II and III duties including but not limited to, inspecting tires, batteries, fluids, frame/rust/flood damage, interior and exterior functionality, replace air filters, retrieve OBD codes, general service repairs, brake inspection, diagnosis and repair and steering and suspension repairs.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Execute CarMax standardized workInspect all vehicles per CarMax Quality StandardsPerform heating and air conditioning repairPerform engine repairPerform brake diagnosis and repairPerform diagnosis as assignedPerform steering and suspension repair including 4-wheel alignmentsEnsure workplace cleanliness and organization in accordance with CarMax 5S standardsMaintain, repair, and clean shop equipment.Provide outstanding customer service at all timesComplete duties as assigned by Leads and ManagersJob Specifications:Position requires the following pre-requisites and ability:Complete all training as required by position including Kronos Training for Hourly Associates Accountable to Associate 1 Competency ModelMaintain Refrigerant Recycling LicenseMaintain ASE Certification in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), and Engine Repair (A1).Meet Mechanical Associate I, II and III Performance StandardsComplete Mechanical Associate I, II, III and IV Workstation CertificationsRead, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate recordsPerform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environmentLift objects that weigh as much as 50lbsSpeak and listen effectively in dealing with customers/associates, both in person and over the phoneDemonstrate above average attention to detail and have manual dexterity in both arms and handsMonitor shop compliance with CarMax, OSHA, and EPA policiesWorking Conditions:Indoor and outdoor environment; may include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditions.Requires walking or standing for an extended periods of time.Wears CarMax clothing (acquired through company) at all times working in the store.Follows all CarMax, OSHA, and EPA standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment, and proper waste disposal in required areas.Adheres to all CarMax policies including Attendance, Asset Protection, Integrity and Standards of Professional Appearance.About CarMaxCarMax disrupted the auto industry by delivering the honest, transparent and high-integrity experience customers want and deserve.
