Due to COVID this role will start remote and move to onsite once COVID clears. Candidates should have 7+ years of SOC experience, be well versed in the Microsoft Security tool Stack and have relevant certifiations. Candidates should be comfortable with a rotating shift.location: Washington, Washington, DC job type: Contractwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Bachelorsresponsibilities:Serves as an integrated member of the Security Architecture & Engineering team providing direct support to the Security Operations Center and technology projects through DevSecOps. This role is responsible for a broad range of complex technical and professional work functions to protect IT systems, network, and data across the enterprise. The Principal Cybersecurity Engineer is highly technical, with a solid understanding of information security, infrastructure software, and various operating systems. Leads the service delivery of multiple security systems or toolsets.Delivers integration, implementation, and operation and maintenance support to multiple technologies which may include:+ Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) / Security Orchestration & Automated Response (SOAR) technologies+ Endpoint Protection Products+ Network Security Devices+ Cloud Access Security Brokers+ Threat Intelligence Platforms, or+ Digital Forensics ToolsParticipates in special projects or investigations into specific technology or solution issues and research and piloting of new technologies. Develops secure host baselines to harden operating systems. May serve as a point of contact for engineering efforts.Validates and verifies system security requirements definitions and analysis and establishes system security designs. Designs, develops, and implements and/or integrates security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enterprise environments.Coordinate, communicate, share information, and work closely with organization stakeholders.
