**Description:**Our client is looking to add one Software Engineer to their team to support the USPS. This client has extensive experience with the US Postal Service (USPS) and has provided years of development and project management. This Engineer will be focused on advancing the productivity of the USPS automation equipment and developing new systems. Our client is expanding their business into other government and commercial markets, specifically focusing on the following areas: US Postal service operations technology, education and non-profits, industrial/heating and AC. They provide business and custom software services including website and database server applications.Day to Day Responsibilities:This person day will primarily consist of coding for the web and application portion of the mail sorting machine monitoring system. This work currently is a combination of patches to fix current code issues and upgrades of new features to the system. Since they are sitting onsite at the USPS Engineering facility they will also have to interact with the customer to define the required changes.Test the JD:They will be working directly with the UPSP customer to identify issues with the mail sorting machines, coming up with a solution to fix it, and coding the software to fix the solution. All is done in either C++ or C# on Windows and Unix.Disqualifiers:- No experience with C++ (must have some within last two years even if its in college)- All embedded programming focused- Is not a permanent resident of the US and have lived in the US for 4.5 our of the last 5 years.Great vs. Average:An "A" level candidate will be one who has hands-on experience working with C++ and C# professionally where they had to modify existing code. Also, an "A" level candidate will be one who works well with teams and open to working on multiple project simultaneously.
