Dewberry is currently seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as a Senior Project Manager in our Fairfax, VA, office, to play a key role in growing our resilience and water resources services. In this role, the person will have responsibilities that include project management, technical leadership. business/client development, client relationship management, and sales. Candidates must have a proven track record of obtaining and sustaining strong client relationships and successful sales performance. The individual selected for this position will work closely with Dewberry's national experts in resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation, and will have opportunities to support Dewberry projects in other markets.

Responsibilities

Candidate will serve as a water resources senior project manager on a variety of projects related to resilience planning, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, GIS mapping, risk assessments, and related services. Work responsibilities may include:
  • Winning new resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects and adding new clients
  • Managing, leading, executing, and/or providing technical support for resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects within the municipal, regional, and Federal markets.
  • Communicating with clients, establishing goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.

Leading teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentation, as well as developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for various projects.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • B.S. Degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related Engineering field), with emphasis in resilience. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • At least 15 years' professional experience in water resources, disaster risk mitigation and climate resilience, flood management, and infrastructure resilience.
  • Experience with developing new business pursuits and with a solid client base in the resilience arena.
  • Client service management skills and proposal preparation experience
  • Proven record of delivering projects within a matrix organization successfully, profitably, and to the client's satisfaction
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in resilience planning, water resources engineering, and GIS.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as this is a leadership position requiring the individuals to manage clients and mentor staff.
  • P.E. (or ability to obtain quickly) required
  • PMP, CFM preferred


Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
