Responsibilities

You will:
  • Oversee implementation of new system or cloud-based network/compute/storage/series/software and develop operating procedures focusing on DevOps principles.
  • Serve as an expert, advisor, and trainer for DevOps supporting application owners, developers, and operations environments.
  • Serve as Project Officer, Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR).
  • Provide customer support for problem solving, integrating and managing functional operations of multiple computer environments, software packages, networks, services, and applications.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with various IT teams to automate manual release/build related activities utilizing DevOps principles.

If you are selected, you will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure form within 30 days of your first day of employment and annually thereafter.

This position is designated as High Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation. All conditions of the pre-employment security process must be met before an official letter of employment can be issued with a report for duty date.

You must meet time in grade requirements no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

You need a degree or experience as described below to qualify for this position.

In addition to the educational or experience requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:

To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as providing customer support in the areas of software, hardware, networks and applications programs; and oversee implementation of new system(s) or cloud-based network / compute / storage /services / software and develop operating procedures focusing on DevOps principles..

Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1. Skill in the implementation of systems based on DevOps and automation. 2. Knowledge in operating cloud-based computing systems. 3. Knowledge of tools for automating DevOps processes. 4. Skill in developing and maintaining problem tracking and resolution databases. 5. Knowledge of contract management. 6. Knowledge of computer troubleshooting techniques, requirements, methods, sources, and procedures to provide customer support. 7. Ability to coordinate Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline for applications. 8. Skill in written communication.

Education

You must possess either a bachelor's degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks OR demonstrate IT-related experience demonstrating each of the 4 competencies below, the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training as appropriate.
