Summary

The USPS OIG is seeking students enrolled in college/university programs to fill our Student Cooperative (PAID) position within Mission Support, Training and Talent Development Team in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide administrative and office support activities for full time employees and contractors on the Training and Talent Development Team; Duties include assisting staff to research solutions for common help-desk problems related to the Learning Management System; creating spreadsheets, presentations and communications for training events; working with OIG stakeholders to plan for, set up and implement OIG offered courses; supporting the use of SharePoint for site development efforts in Communities of Practice; creating innovative solutions for customer needs; working well with customers for all OIG components and performing other duties as assigned.

The Student Cooperative Program is available for continuous employment throughout the year, while enrolled in school.

This position is being advertised at the Administrative Band level. The base salary range for this position is $14.62 - $17.61/hour. Locality Pay is authorized.

Sophomore $19.07 per hour includes locality pay
Junior/Senior $20.27 per hour includes locality pay
Graduate or Law Student $22.97 per hour incudes locality pay

  • Recognizes the dimensions of the problems involved, collects the necessary information, establishes the facts, and takes or recommends action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

You must meet ALL of the minimum requirements.
  • Students must be currently enrolled full or half-time in an accredited college or university program, classified or academically ranked by semester hours as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student. (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPT STATING CURRENT ENROLLMENT STATUS, GPA AND IN GOOD STANDING)
AND
  • Must be in academic good standing as defined by the college or university, earning at least a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale.
AND
  • Must be able to report to work in the USPS OIG office for which you are selected during core business hours.
AND
  • Must have experience with computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.

  • Skill in written and oral communications and ability to apply those skills in coordination and problem-solving efforts.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and basic office software programs, including Microsoft office.

  • Ability to work on a wide range of assignments/projects with many different people.
