Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has teamed up with a steadily growing mortgage lender and to find a motivated Mortgage Quality Control Analyst. The Analyst will assist in the development and maintenance of an efficient QA/QC plan. They will participate in quality control audits of all loan types. Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate underwriting and credit-related documents, appraisals, title documents, insurance reports, and verification of income records
  • Verify loan files; support quality control reviews and audits on loan files
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, agency guidelines and underwriting policies, standards and procedures
  • Assist the Manager with all quality control reporting on a monthly basis and provide to the Director of Quality Control
  • Provide detailed reporting of audit findings; track and report results using spreadsheet and QC tools
  • Identify process improvements in the area of sales, fulfillment and underwriting
  • Collaborate with teams to provide quality feedback and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable underwriting guidelines, mortgage related laws/regulations quality control best practices and industry trends.

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of residential mortgage underwriting experience; understanding of mortgage regulations and guidelines including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and Non-Conforming
  • 3+ years of quality control experience required
  • Experience with the Encompass required
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending process, underwriting and quality control
  • Ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with teams and partners, both internally and externally
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to communicate with teams
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex reports, needs and documentation; excellent time management skills
