Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare,(CM), Business Operations Staff-1 (BOS-1), in Woodlawn, MD.

As a Management & Program Analyst, GS-0343-13, you will be the primary focal point for all Center for Medicare (CM) crosscutting business operations affecting the management of CM, as well as policy direction, coordination, and support for CM's business services.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, coordination, and review of Medicare policies and other signification documents.
  • Review, evaluate, and conduct follow-ups of projects to ensure that goals, objectives, and deadlines are understood and met.
  • Serve as a resource on background data from research conducted in preparation for meetings.
  • Establish and maintain close contact and serve as a primary contact with CMS? Office of Information Technology (OIT) to support the development, maintenance and enhancement of the SharePoint site.
  • Advise on operational policies, procedures, and critical issues and recommend solutions to problems affecting the Center.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to recommend improvements to administrative operations; (2) Coordinating with internal or external stakeholders regarding responses to action items, inquiries, correspondence or to resolve issues; (3) Serving as a point-of-contact for program and operational management issues and requests; AND (4) Serving as the primary contact for the maintenance and enhancement of the SharePoint site.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
