As a Lead Expert Risk Specialist within SyRIS organization, you will provide advice and support to the Lead Expert and to a range of OCC supervised institutions, primarily within the OCC's large and midsize bank portfolios on a risk-based approach.

As a Lead Expert Risk Specialist, you will:
  • Provide technical support to the Lead Expert for the assigned supervision risk area and OCC examination staff in identifying and addressing associated areas of risk in financial institutions supervised by the OCC, with a primary focus on institutions within the OCC's large and midsize portfolios.
  • Evaluate or contribute to the evaluation of risks across OCC supervised institutions and work with other lead experts and subject matter staff throughout the OCC on related issues.
  • Provide advice and technical knowledge on supervisory matters within the assigned supervision risk area to supervision management, policy officials, subject matter experts and specialists and senior subject matter managers within the OCC.
  • Provide advice and suggestions on examiners and staff that may be well suited to participate or lead examination activities in these risk areas.
  • Assist in developing supervision risk area skills for OCC supervision staff and in identifying developmental opportunities.

    Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC & Boston, MA are the preferred locations; though, any U.S. location of the OCC (field or satellite office) will be considered under an alternative work location as defined in PPM 3110-53.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Experience assessing and advising on Bank Information Technology supervisory issues, risks and/or risk mitigation in a financial institution or regulatory agency.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
