Under the supervision of the Chief of Pharmacy and Director of Pharmacy Operations the Pharmacy Operations Coordinator will be responsible for pharmacy education and training programs. This individual is a recognized pharmacy departmental leader and provides strong, visible, values driven leadership and advocacy for pharmacy education. They will provide oversight and direction of pharmacy staff development; new education initiatives; new employee orientation and staff competency training. They will ensure incorporation, alignment with, and support of departmental and institutional strategic vision, direction and priorities. This person actively promotes, facilitates and participates in educational activities and promotes generation of new knowledge relevant to the practice of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)

Minimum Work Experience
3 years

Required Skills/Knowledge
Effective communicator
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong commitment to achieving excellence
Working knowledge and familiarity with educational and learning management systems

Required Licenses and Certifications
Pharmacist Washington D.C Req

Functional Accountabilities

1. Facilitates and oversees the new employee onboarding and training for all pharmacy department employees
2.

1. Conducts competency assessments of pharmacy department employees

1. Maintains training records for pharmacy department employees

1. Develops and maintains departmental job descriptions

1. Develops and maintains training materials including, but no limited to, checklists, competencies, presentations, and proof of training

1. Conducts remedial education with pharmacy department employees when necessary

1. Develops and distributes educational materials regarding operational and clinical updates
