Responsibilities

As a Market Compliance Specialist, you will:

- Serve as an expert planner, analyst, and assisting advisor to Trade Investigations Division (TID) and Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) management officials via the Market Compliance Office (MCO) on national programs that assess compliance with TTB administered laws and regulations in accordance with the legal or administrative positions set forth by the Bureau.
- Conduct complex analyses on issues related to product integrity or marketplace activities relating to the production, labeling, advertising, and marketing of all domestic and imported alcohol beverages; determine compliance with TTB's regulations and underlying statutes; and recommend and execute appropriate actions to correct or address violations.
- Develop new procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of programs and to ensure the optimal utilization of resources.
- Monitor operations and marketplace activities relating to the production, labeling, marketing and advertising of all domestic and imported alcohol beverages.
- Coordinate activities of TID with the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, Food and Drug Administration and other divisions within TTB, particularly TTB laboratories, as they relate to adulterated, contaminated or mislabeled products.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is: Conducting analysis of a program area to determine compliance of laws and regulations.

Examples of such experience could include:
- Interpreting and explaining TTB laws and regulations; OR
- Researching and analyzing compliance issues in a regulatory program area; OR
- Applying laws, regulations, and policies to prepare correspondence, reports, proposals or operating procedures that address compliance issues related to labeling, formulation, product safety, or marketplace activities; OR
- Making recommendations for program improvements to executives and management officials through written or oral presentations.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
