Summary

As a Construction Manager , you will provide support for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC). Chenega Worldwide Support (CWS) was recently awarded with a five-year contract to work in various locations in the DC area. NAVFAC is looking for a seasoned Construction Manager to provide support in the US government. This opportunity holds a great work/life balance with a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities
  • Take necessary action to assure contractor's quality control program is provided in accordance with the contract requirements and that three phases of quality control are being utilized
  • Based on technical knowledge and coordination with designer and contractor, propose to the Contracting Officer technical solutions to design issues/unforeseen conditions encountered during construction
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ year experience as a Construction Manager
  • Knowledge and experience with applicable Codes and Industry Standards
  • Contractor employees performing services under this Task Order must meet the following requirements and have the following licenses and/or certifications for each respective position:
  • Extensive technical and practical knowledge, and experience as a Construction Manager
  • Registration as a professional engineer or architect in a U.S. state or U.S. territory is desired
  • Background check required with the ability to obtain an interim secret or secret clearance, prior to hire and start.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must possess a keen understanding of schedules utilizing network analysis and the potential impact of modifications to the critical path
  • Ability to obtain interim secret clearance
  • Thorough knowledge of construction practices and methods as well as construction management
  • Ability to review technical engineering specifications and statements of work covering complex and diverse engineering designs or changes
  • In depth knowledge of the various types of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and regulations governing Federal contract administration
  • Able and willing to traverse on construction jobsites (approximately 20% of the time)
  • Able to communicate (both orally and in writing) effectively to all leadership levels
  • Knowledge of EM 385-1-1, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Safety and Health Requirements Manual
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates and assist in negotiations of change orders when requested
  • Knowledge of computer operations and software applications such as MS office (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point), Primavera P6
