Summary

This role will drive improved performance and growth opportunity analysis to support ASI's strategic plans. Develops new and adapts existing dashboards and reports to identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns from complex data sets to solve business problems, optimize revenue, and workforce management. Incumbent(s) in this position may perform all or a significant combination of the tasks described below depending on operational requirements and individual areas of expertise.
Responsibilities

Description of Duties:
  • Leads, develops and implements data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases
  • Develops new and adapts existing dashboards and reports
  • Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct data integrity problems
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets using statistical techniques
  • Analyze markets, customers and products to identify improvement opportunities
  • Utilizes data to help solve business problems, such as optimizing revenue (external) and workforce management (internal)
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Ensures that any money spent on optimization and/or initiatives (by conducting cost benefit analysis) is spent deliberately including ongoing metrics against budget and ROI.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Utilizes a financial lens to develop/collaborate on operational and strategic plans
  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines
  • Effectively communicates findings
  • Provides clear explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise
Requirements

Requirements
- 15+ years of financial and operational analysis, and financial reporting
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred
- Ability to compose comprehensive executive summaries of analysis
- Minimum 5 years' experience in finance or accounting role
- 10% travel

Experience

- Detailed financial analysis related to marketing plans and sales performance
- Ability navigate large complex internal and external organizations to drive results
- Program oversight of large scale projects in excess of $50M for Fortune 100 companies
- Expertise in cost structures and analysis to recommendations on ROIs
- Demonstrated experience developing strategic and operating plans for Fortune 100 companies
- Strong industry experience in Insurance, Financial Products and Discount Providers
- Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies
- Skilled in workload management projections for projects and operational functions
- Highly collaborative and demonstrated ability to develop strong cross functional relationships
- Strong working knowledge of ASI and AARP functions / relationship a plus
-Deep knowledge of distribution models for insurance and financial services companies and the supporting technology
-Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
-Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical and financial packages for analyzing data.
-Experience using database reporting tools such as Microsoft Office products, Salesforce.com, and Tableau
-Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
