Summary

As an IT Project Manager, you will serve as a Cloud Platform Specialist for information technology (IT) projects.

Location of position: Office of GSA IT, Office of Corporate IT Services (IC) , Enterprise Platform Solutions Division, Application Development and Solutions Branch (ICPA), Washington DC

IC focuses on the delivery of innovative IT platforms, services, and solutions for the GSA IT enterprise.

We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Providing IT advice to GSA Office to maintain strategic roadmaps to fulfill their business goals.
  • Evaluating business process and practices using technology solutions for improvement.
  • Working with contractor led development teams using agile software development methodologies to review technical specifics ensuring strategic fit.
  • Working with senior management and contractors with planning system projects affecting areas of operations.
  • Acting as a liaison between GSA offices to improve agency effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Advocating technologies and processes to streamline operations, improve efficiency and capture government savings.
  • Staying current with developments of cloud emerging technologies, data and application management and security management to provide advice and solutions for a range of customer needs and demands.
  • Applying qualitative and/or quantitative methods to assess and improve program effectiveness and/or complex management processes, projects, and systems.

If selected, you must meet the following conditions:
  • Receive authorization from OPM on any job offer you receive, if you are or were (within the last 5 years) a political Schedule A, Schedule C or Non-Career SES employee in the Executive Branch.
  • Serve a one year probationary period, if required.
  • Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level).
  • Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA employee. We will use the Department of Homeland Security's e-Verify system for this. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of continued employment.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $102,663 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as experience configuring and administering Salesforce.com applications used in enterprise-wide environments; conducting business requirements analysis for CRM systems, and providing technical guidance and oversight of enterprise-wide Platform-as-a-Service applications. Experience must include providing technology advice and consultation to teams, top management, and vendor partners, in the areas of: IT security, agile software development methodologies, software release management, cloud-based application development, and data and application management for the Salesforce platform.

  • Skill in oral communications to provide formal presentations to senior management on IT issues.
  • Skill in written communications to provide briefings to senior management on IT issues.
  • Knowledge of Cloud technology and the agile software development process to provide advice and solutions for the IT needs of the customer.
  • Knowledge of IT/contract acquisition processes as it pertains to IT project management strategies and utilization of the information obtained to create solutions.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting requirements (e.g., OMB), Portfolio Management, and Enterprise Architecture to improve program effectiveness.
  • Skill in implementing cloud solutions and technologies to provide advice to customers.
