Adventist Healthcare is now hiring Nurse Residents (RN) to join our Nursing Administration Team!

The Nurse Resident (RN) will be someone who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. This will be a 12-month orientation and developmental program. For the first nine months, all duties of the Nurse Resident (RN) are performed under the direct supervision of a RN preceptor. For the final three months, the Nurse Resident (RN) will utilize the preceptor as a mentor while transitioning to independence

As a Nurse Resident (RN) you will:

1. Perform patient assessments and reassessments in accordance with established standards and as appropriate to patient condition, age, and services to be provided.
2. Develop a plan of care that is individualized, patient need focused, and reflects appropriate collaboration.
3. Evaluate patient response to treatments/interventions, reprioritizes care based on reassessment, and revises the plan of care as indicated.
4. Complete appropriate documentation in accordance with hospital standards
5. Attends all assigned learning activities, clinical experiences, and regular evaluation sessions to obtain feedback on performance
6. Work closely with preceptor, CNS, educators, and program coordinator to integrate and maximize learning
7. Complete an Evidenced-Based Practice Project prior to program completion

Qualifications Include:

• Graduate of an accredited BSN nursing program
• Active Maryland Registered Nurse License
• 3.0 GPA or higher and maintain 80% or higher passing grades on classroom and clinical assignments
• No prior experience as RN or LPN
• Current Maryland RN License
• BLS certification (AHA Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer)
• Specialty specific: ACLS (intensive care units, PACU), can obtain after employment
• Completes an Evidenced-Based Practice Project prior to program completion

Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing.
