Associate Research Professor - Schar School of Public Policy & Government

The George Mason University Schar School of Public Policy & Government invites applications for an Associate Research Professor position. Professors Faye Taxman and Danielle Rudes are seeking a researcher to collaborate on research at the interface between health and criminology. In several studies, this position will support the work of different randomized controlled trial that seeks to further understand interventions to interrupt offending, substance abuse and other risk behaviors or interventions to create high performing organizations. These are active trials that will allow for continued longitudinal follow-up to illustrate the impact of evidence-based practices. Additionally the position includes use of administrative data, overseeing human subject protocols, and statistical modeling.

Responsibilities: * Working on the study protocol; * Creating and maintaining databases; * Conducting sophisticated statistical analyses; * Managing field staff; * Collaborating with team members on empirical articles; * Assisting in the design of new studies; * Assisting in the supervision of our outstanding graduate research assistants and field staff.

Required Qualifications: * Ph.D. for five years or a master's degree with ten years of experience; * Outstanding quantitative skills, including experience with SPSS and SAS; * Excellent writing and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications: * Advanced degree in policy, social sciences, and/or quantitative analyses; * Experience with administrative data sets, randomized controlled data and working with teams from various institutions; * Experience working with justice involved populations.
