This Security Manager, Senior shall serve under the general direction of the PEO EIS Security Manager with responsibility for assisting with a wide variety of personnel security actions.

  • Receive, review, and process requests for investigations, security clearances, and reports of unfavorable information.
  • Respond to a wide variety of personnel security requests from higher and subordinate activities and other government agencies such as the Defense Investigative Service and the Officer of Personnel Management.
  • Review results of personnel security investigations, summarizes unfavorable information, and notifies appropriate officials when a suitability determination is warranted. Responsible for the handling of personnel security records with the highest degree of discretion.
  • Monitor status on personnel requiring documentation of personnel security investigation and/or security clearance.
  • Maintain and manage a database for all permanent party and contract personnel assigned to ES and advises appropriate military personnel and contractors of investigation/security clearance status. Will use the DoD Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) to process all personnel security inquiries and security clearance actions.
  • Process requests for civilian position sensitivity designations and recommends approval and disapproval.
  • Prepare and type correspondence IAW regulations as required or directed.
  • Monitor suspense files on assigned cases and follows through on all overdue suspense actions.
  • Assist visits and personnel security inspections, preparing after action reports noting deficiencies, and providing recommendations for possible solutions to the problems.
  • Assist with the review of SOP's to ensure they contain detailed information as required by regulations and other pertinent directives.
  • Provide advice and assistance pertaining to the Electronic Personnel Security Questionnaire and submission of personnel security correspondence

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree and equivalent experience
  • 11-15 years of relevant work experience
  • Active or interim secret security clearance

  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational, scheduling and prioritization skills and to maintain high level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
  • Works well individually or in a group setting.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers to develop a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Office, Outlook, Utilize AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project 2007programs
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
