Rehabilitation counselors ensure that residents experience a safe and therapeutic living environment. They work with residents to enhance activities of daily living, appropriately engage in social activities, and work towards achieving treatment plan goals.

Principled Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides client-centered case management and psychiatric rehabilitation
services to clients with mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and
substance use disorders within a residential or supported living program.

• Introductory knowledge of public social services programs and policies; how
to develop initiate and follow through with a plan of service; current health,
social services and mental hygiene resources and how to appropriately link
people to them Provides life skills training, behavior management, and crisis
intervention.
• Supports clients in taking prescribed medication, including medication
administration. Has the ability and willingness to help clients maintain
residences that are clean, safe and healthful and promptly reports anything that
is unsafe, unclean, or in need of repair Conducts person centered treatment
planning and ongoing assessment.
• Supports (i.e. teaching, monitoring, providing prompting) clients in maintaining
adequate hygiene.
• Meets one-on-one with clients and establishes/maintains rapport
Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• H.S. Diploma, A.A. preferred
• 1 year experience preferred
• Medication Administration Technician in State of Maryland
• CPR/FA by American Heart Association (AHA)

Work Schedule:

Day shift

Every other weekend

Tobacco use is a well-recognized preventable cause of death in the United States and an important public health issue. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing.
