The Lourie Center seeks to hire an experienced Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a private, non-profit agency with a mission to improve the social and emotional health of young children and their families through prevention, early intervention, education, research and training. The Lourie Center has four core programs serving children birth through age 12 and their families: Head Start, The Lourie Center School, The Therapeutic Nursery Program and Parent-Child Clinical Services

As the Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, you will:
• Deliver mental health consultation to Head Start enrollment children, families, and staff, especially utilizing an attachment-centered and trauma-informed perspective.
• Design and implement classroom- and home-based consultation services to enhance the quality of the parent-child attachment and to promote the socio-emotional and developmental growth of young children and their families.
• Provide case coordination services to assigned families.
• Prepare written reports and attends meetings with school board, child welfare, and other legal agencies as requested by Head Start parents/guardians or required by legal action
• Access Protected Health Information on a routine basis. Employee must comply with all privacy standards of the Lourie Center that include HIPAA, COMAR and others - state and federal regulations as written in the Privacy Manual

Qualifications Include:
•Knowledge of clinical mental health services especially with children and families.
•Master's degree in social work is required. MD Licensed or license-eligible for clinical work level in •Some post-master's experience in providing individual, family and group psychotherapy is desirable.
•Preferred, experience working in a Head Start program and knowledge of the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
•Preferred, bilingual fluent verbal and written English and Spanish
