Position Title: Sr. System Administrator (Lab Manager - III)Location: Arlington, VA with partial telework Contract Duration: 5 years Project Details: In this hands-on role, you will utilize your system administration skills to maintain lab operations for a cutting edge program in DHS.Clearance:Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain DHS EODExperience:7+ years lab management or systems administration experience with a High school diploma; or a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline, and with 5+ years of lab management or systems administration experienceMust-Have Skills:Knowledge of Computer Network Defense (CND) policies, procedures, and regulationsKnowledge of defense-in-depth principles and network security architectureKnowledge of database management and implementationKnowledge of asset management practices and principlesKnowledge of hardware and software provisioning practicesKnowledge of boundary protection and enclavingKnowledge of authentication and access management technologiesDaily Responsibilities:Provides network documentation for changes in network topography or policiesProvisions and provides support for Virtual Machines operating within the networkPerforms systems maintenance tasks such as routine maintenance and patching on databases and software systemsProvisions and provides support for Virtual Private Network (VPN) or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (eg, Citrix) to users.Performs large scale configuration management and deployment across Windows, macOS, Linux/Unix, and other operating systems and virtual environmentsProvides insight and expertise to a Federal Lab Manager as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in regards to network architecture, hardware and software implementation, and development and implementation of new technologies in the lab environmentAdvises and provides insight on development of lab standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policiesDetermines appropriate courses of actions in response to identified and analyzed anomalous network activityAssesses network topology and device configurations identifying critical security concerns and providing security best practice recommendationsAssists with conducting peer reviews and provides quality assurance reviews for junior personnelAssist with overseeing technical analysis by mentoring/providing guidance to others on data collection, analysis and reporting in support of engagements
