Come, love what you do with us! One of our seasoned retail leaders is transferring to our Washington DC delivery center, so we are looking for a retail store-level manager to join our showroom. As a Leadership Associate with Room & Board, you'll report to the Retail Market Manager and contribute as a leader in guiding and leading the market in a way that creates an exceptional experience for our customers. You accomplish this through leading, mentoring and developing a team of design/sales professionals who are empowered and confident in their ability to provide design solutions to our customers. Location: 1840 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009 (14th and T Street) Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, with flexibility to meet the needs of the business. You'll share your talents in the following ways: You'll join a 4-person leadership team who leads and inspires a team of 20± design/sales (non-commissioned sales environment), visual merchandising and inventory associates in our 29,000 sq. ft. showroom responsible for selling $30mm in quality, American-made modern home furnishings. Historically, we have found that our most successful Retail Leadership Associates have left the demanding pace of a store manager role for equal challenges, autonomy and rewards in this role. Our Retail Leadership Associates understand how their customers live and shop. They leverage Room & Board's assortment to maximize the selling floor and therefore meet customer needs. They are passionate about Room & Board's design aesthetic and weave their understanding into the showroom experience. They also create meaningful store events that provide opportunities to deepen connections with existing customers as well as reach new customers. Our Retail Leadership Associates are involved in the development of a strategic business plan that adjusts to the changing needs of their market. They play a role in the planning process, forecasting market sales, location headcount and salary plans, and all controllable expenses. The experiences you'll draw from and the qualifications you'll bring: retail assistant store manager * At least 5 years of leadership experience in a customer-centric retail sales environment with demonstrated success leading high performing teams. * A demonstrated confidence and high standards when it comes to detail and organization and a belief that your success is tied directly to the selection, growth and continued development of the team you lead and how you treat others. * A passion for working on the sales floor and engaging with customers. * Solid communications that inform, set clear expectations, provide timely and specific feedback and facilitate meaningful ways to recognize staff members. * Be a champion for the company and build trust with the team through transparent communication, explaining the whys behind the decisions that we make and the benefits of those decisions. * Be an advocate for your business by building collaborative relationships with partners outside your four walls and educating them about your business.
