Servicing the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia First Vehicle Services is actively seeking an experienced Light Duty Automotive Technician. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on automotive repair experience, a valid drivers' license, and ASE certifications (or at least have the willingness to obtain ASE certs). In this role, you would provide preventative maintenance for the District of Columbia's Metropolitan PD Fleet which consists of Ford, Dodge, and GM vehicles. As a Light-Duty Automotive Technician you will perform maintenance according to FVS standards which consist of: * Conducting minor diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of problems and provide accurate repair recommendations. * Remove, clean, repair, reinstall and adjust vehicle components: * Engine emission components (State certification) * Driveline components * Electrical/ electronic components * Brakes/ suspension/ steering/ exhaust * Cab/ chassis * Hydraulics * Ensuring the safe use of power and hand-held tools. * Select an appropriate course of action for repairs * Performing road calls and emergency services as necessary. * Communicating professionally with team members, and supervisors. * Actively participating in safety or educational training as required. * Continuous ASE re-certification to remain in the job classification.
