The Performance Management Grant Advisor is part of the Grants team with a focus on data management, analysis and reporting for external grants, including an emphasis on managing the grants management online Salesforce-based platform (foundationConnect), and overseeing a diverse grant portfolio.

The Performance Management Grant Advisor will lead collection efforts and monitor grant data to ensure standards and compliance. The Advisor will oversee analysis of data and complete necessary reporting within Foundation systems. The Advisor will work with the Evaluation, Strategic Planning and Program teams to ensure alignment with evaluation, strategic plan and program needs. The Advisor will also regularly interact with grantees and contractors.
  • L eads the collection, analysis and reporting of grant performance data.
  • Manages data-tracking systems and organizational tools to track and monitor external grants.
  • Analyzes grant program data to identify trends and provide recommendations for new processes to identify and manage external grants.
  • Completes necessary monthly and quarterly reporting within Foundation dashboard system, ensuring accurately and timely data reporting.
  • Communicates grant performance to internal stakeholders
  • Manages the grant lifecycle for a portfolio of external grants, including activities related to the Application, Award, Accountability and Assessment of grants.
  • Applies project management skills to lead cross-functional teams to achieve grant goals.
  • Identifies external programs that align with AARP Foundation strategic objectives.
  • Oversees Salesforce-based grants management system, including developing and implementing an operational plan to enhance effectiveness and managing external relations with vendors. In addition, identifies, recommends and implements solutions to increase effectiveness and efficiency of platform while maximizing cost-effectiveness and budget.
  • Develops monthly and quarterly grant operations reports and materials for Foundation leadership team and Board.
  • Develops data visualizations accurately depicting grantee impact.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Completion of Bachelor's degree
  • Graduate degree in business, public health, or other relevant field preferred.
  • Six (6) or more years of directly relevant experience in the nonprofit sector in program and/or grants management or comparable experience.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and obsessive attention to detail, with the ability to produce quality reports and manage data with accuracy.
  • Experience with database systems, including Salesforce.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines, balance numerous projects, and work independently.
  • Creativity, flexibility, a proactive problem-solving approach, and strong relationship-building skills are essential to success.
