ISCI is a federal contractor Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing cloud-based solutions for our government clients using AWS. We are currently seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer in the IT-Services domain to be our lead solution architect. This position is to assist the ISCI proposal team in the development of a complex enterprise wide cloud-based solution during our proposal phase and then transition to a full-time position as the Program Lead architect upon award. We value our professionals, providing comprehensive benefits, exciting challenges, and the opportunity for growth As an AWS Engineer, you will be a member of a team of highly motivated and talented team of systems developers and systems engineers helping to shape the future of support technologies both within isolated AWS regions and in the AWS public regions. This role is for an AWS Engineer, with advanced AWS design and development skills, to migrate on premises application to cloud-based applications, troubleshoot performance issues, and build quick turnaround applications for demos. Diving deeper into the role, on a day-to-day basis you will help create proof of concept, deploy proof of concept once approved with application design and guide development teams as they implement architectures. You will apply critical thinking skills and provide innovative solutions to solve any issues after migration and provide solutions to resolve end user issues. We are looking for a critical thinker who can create pragmatic, yet innovative solutions by taking the complex and decomposing it into manageable chunks. You will design, architecture and migrate cloud-based solutions for our federal client. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Understand customers' overall applications portfolio, IT and business priorities and success measures to design implementation architectures and solutions (Microsoft and 3rd party solutions) using PaaS, DevOps & Advanced Application coding, Apply technical knowledge and customer insights to create a modernization roadmap. Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, while orchestrating key resources and infusing key Infrastructure technologies (eg Windows and Linux IaaS, Security, Networking, etc.), and Application Development and DevOps technologies (eg App Service, containers, serverless, cloud native, etc.) as appropriate, Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements, Minimum of 15 years' experience in relevant technologies, with hands-on experience setting up cloud-based infrastructure and supporting application design and development, Hands-on experience solving complex business requirements using cloud-based infrastructure, Minimum of 10 year of experience in Agile/Scrum or related collaborative workflow, Minimum of 15 years' experience with distributed operational health and performance monitoring systems and migration of on premises data to AWS cloud with successful transition, Minimum of 15 years' experience in different operating system (ie Windows and Linux), system configuration, networking and migration, Hands-on architecture and design experience, cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, Verifiable project experience of having set up large scale on premises to cloud transition involving medical data, large scale data migration, companywide server migration, cluster creation, simultaneous dev, stage and production environment, verifiable design by others, Experience architecting and/or building scalable, automated infrastructure, Expertise in designing solution architecture with a view towards resiliency, availability and very comfortable in designing Failover and Recovery strategies, Experience with designing logging framework for cloud watch for all deployed apps, Should have designed & worked on Jenkins, Bitbucket, Docker, Elastic Bean Stalk for Devops teams, Expert Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS,ELB, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, App Mesh, storage and storage migration, Experience in maintaining ACL, Security Groups and firewall configurations, Must have developed sharing strategies for future scaling and performance, Experience with Amazon Web Services, code-defined infrastructure, configuration management tools, and CI/CD, Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Maven, GitHub, Ansible, Artifactory, Sonar Qube in a cloud environment, Ability to create and utilize AWS Cloud Formation templates to automate creation of AWS images. Proficient in developing scripts and scripting languages, Familiarity with AWS CLI, AWS APIs, AWS CloudFormation templates, the AWS Billing Console, and the AWS Management Console, Experience working with Terraform, Git, and Python, Familiarity with compliance & security standards across the enterprise IT landscape, particularly in the Federal arena, Strong collaboration skills with stakeholders to test build releases and ensure builds provide a consistent core foundation for hosting government and commercial applications, Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following: Docker Swarm, DC/OS, Cloud Foundry, OpenStack, Cloud Stack, Work closely with the architect and engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environment that effectively reflect business needs, security requirements, and service level requirements. Manage a continuous integration/continuous deployment methodology for the server-based technologies. Work with engineering and architecture teams to design and implement scalable software services. Work with the architecture team to design and implement a cloud management solution to potentially span multiple CSP and private clouds. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills and Specifications Federal migration experience with AWS AWS SME and hands on experience with AWS Networking infrastructure deployment and migration Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes Problem solving skills Good organization and communication skills Customer/Client focus Education and/or Experience Candidates must have 15+ years of relevant experience Bachelor s Degree AWS Solutions Architect Professional AWS DevOps Engineer Professional Advanced Networking Specialty Big Data Specialty Security Specialty Physical Requirements Depending on the assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Work Environment Work will be conducted in an office environment. Position requires both sitting and standing in situations. Position Type/Expected hours of work This is a full-time position, and 8 hours of work, days are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
