This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity. location: Annapolis, Maryland job type: Permanent salary: $90,000 - 120,000 per year work hours: 9 to 5 education: Unknown experience: 3 Years responsibilities: Responsibilities In this role, the Software Engineer will be responsible for: Creating and testing C and Java code using best practices for distributed, scalable, high-performance applications Analyzing ICDs, specifications, and related documentation Defining component architecture based on stories from customer requirements Ensuring feasibility of solutions by creating minimum viable solutions and rapid prototypes Developing and executing integration and unit test cases Designing and developing scripts and test plans to accompany test cases Communicating with fellow engineers regarding planning, design, testing, implementation, and code reviews Reviewing, debugging, and resolving application difficulties Creating documentation Following Agile processes, including participating in planning, scrums, and retrospectives Providing support for the production and deployment teams to ensure customer issues are addressed and resolved, including conducting root-cause analysis qualifications: Requirements Education and experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent 3 years of software development experience with C/C or Java on Linux/Unix 1-5 years of professional software development experience, including utilizing one or more programming languages Candidates should understand and have a proven track record with the following: At least one scripting language (Perl, Python, bash) Linux/Unix command line, including common bash commands Agile/Scrum methodologies Atlassian suite (Confluence, JIRA, Crucible, FishEye, Bamboo) Experience with the following is preferred: HTTP, TCP/IP, JSON, LDAP, Maven, Perl, node.js, make, git Ansible, Docker, Yum, Packer, Jinja2 NoSQL and relational databases, REDIS, PostgreSQL Cloud-based services (Openstack) Virtualization technologies and processes Distributed messaging systems (Kafka) Click to apply now, or for more information regarding this role, please contact Adam Daley at @RandstadUSA.com .
