Adventist HealthCare and CCPLabs seek to hire an experienced Pathology Support Technician who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Pathology Support Technician you will:
• Provide technical and/or administrative support for the Pathology department and gross room at SGMC and WOMC hospitals.
• Receive pathology specimens from the operating room, endoscopy, labor and delivery and outreach clients
• Accession specimens and prepare tissue cassettes for the pathologist assistant
• Assist with in room procedures and adult/fetal autopsies as needed
• Prepare stained slides for frozen sections and bone marrows
• Ensure and demonstrate commitment to patient safety when accepting specimens from internal hospital departments and external physician clients. •
• Demonstrate the ability to work closely interdepartmentally with professional and clinical staff solving specimen handling issues, including incorrectly submitted specimens with emphasis on minimizing risk to patients.

Qualifications include:
• High School diploma required
• Laboratory experience preferred; entry level position with on the job training
• Strong attention to detail
