About the Position: Serves as a Supply Technician at Fort Belvoir, VA. Fort Belvoir is approximately 15 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., five miles from Alexandria, VA and next door to the community of Mount Vernon, VA. Responsibilities

  • Receives, issues, exchanges, and turn-ins organizational clothing and individual equipment (OCIE).
  • Maintains adequate stock levels; prepares and submits requisitions through supervisor to insure sufficient quantities of Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE) are on hand when required.
  • Maintains a perpetual inventory of OCIE.
  • Prepares necessary forms and maintains control logs on OCIE sent to property disposal, the laundry and maintenance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes inspecting supplies and materials for cleanliness, serviceability and completeness; maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and materials; preparing necessary forms and maintaining control logs on all supplies and materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Qualified typist required.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Education

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
