Our ideal candidate would be someone with experience in the following: Family petitions, asylum cases, SIJS, U-Visas, waivers (including I-601A, I-601, I-212), cancellation of removal, O Visas, H1B, employment petitions, eligibility under 245(i), and employment petitions. Website: www.slegal.com Job Responsibilities: - Coordinate case and legal strategies. - Manage various projects and deadlines. -Ability to train and supervise administrative staff and paralegals - Negotiate, prepare, and revise documents. - Explain legal language to clients. - Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions. - Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect immigration. - Develop solutions to complex legal questions. -Attend master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and individual/merits hearings Job Requirements: Represent immigrants in cases before the immigration court Offering a full range of immigration legal services Submit appropriate labor department and immigration cases/filings Explain sophisticated immigration concepts and present strategic solutions Conducting research on current immigration law, policies Research new legislation and legal changes in immigration law Direct the entire corporate group's immigration and global mobility program and related strategy Give appropriate legal orientation presentations to detainees at the immigration center Complete detainee intakes following presentations Analyze the implications of such changes on the organization's provision of legal services Providing direct representation to individuals in immigration removal proceedings eligible for immigration relief Advise Honda North America and affiliate companies on the full range of U. S. immigration matters, as well as occasional matters involving Canadian and Mexican immigration Mean will practice in an exciting, everchanging and challenging environment with people who are passionate about immigration Updated and information is being communicated correctly and ensuring cases are continually progressed Prepare complex business visa and immigration petitions Advise clients regarding U. S. immigration strategy and work with clients to obtain temporary and/or permanent employment in the U. S. Prepare and file cases for individuals in removal proceedings, both in the detained and non-detained context Preparing immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions and adjustment of status applications Assist with all aspects of the business immigration process Learning more about great opportunity Assessing individuals' eligibility for immigration benefits and with the completion of immigration applications
